I take on IT and AI leadership for companies that don't want to create a full-time position for it. Independent, because I sell neither software nor hardware.

Your IT has grown over the years. Nobody has the full picture, several vendors are involved, and every larger question ends up with management – decided on the information the vendor supplied. At the same time AI is in the room, and it's hard to tell what has substance and what is sales pressure.

Many SMEs make their most important technology decisions on the side. Between two meetings, someone decides on a system that will shape a company for the next ten years – or paralyse it. The IT provider recommends what it sells itself. And now AI is added to the mix, with a lot of noise and little orientation.
That's where I come in. I've been self-employed since 1996 and have built, run and eventually replaced a lot of systems in that time. I can read a quote and tell you whether it is realistic. I sell no licences, no hardware, no maintenance contracts – my recommendation has no price tag on the back. And I work so that your team can carry on without me.
Two to three days, fixed price, clearly bounded: a review of your system landscape, dependencies and risks, realistic areas for AI, and a prioritised list of measures with effort and benefit. The result is a document your management can decide on. No follow-up commitment.
One to two days a month as a fixed part of your leadership: owning the IT roadmap, reviewing vendors and quotes, sharing budget responsibility, steering AI adoption. I lead and decide – implementation stays with your team or with partners.
Selective and clearly scoped: guiding a tender, selecting a vendor, making an architecture decision, or giving a second opinion on a quote that strikes you as too expensive or too good.
One example from my own workshop
AI meeting notes without handing over the recording: what a notetaker looks like when it runs on infrastructure you control.
How the notetaker is built →System integrators and IT providers earn from licences, hardware and implementation hours. Their recommendation is therefore never neutral. I sell my time and nothing else – which is why I can also tell you when a project isn't needed at all.
I have spent three decades developing, integrating and running systems. That is why I can tell whether a quote is realistic, where a vendor is talking nonsense, and what a migration really costs. A pure strategy consultant cannot.
The goal is not that you need me, but that your team moves forward. At my clients, their own people now operate and extend what we built together.
Three client projects from the past two years, as they actually went.
Industry · high-tech, several sites worldwide
Integration architecture owned, vendor coordination led, first version built hands-on. Then a shift from implementer to trainer – today an in-house engineer builds the extensions himself.
The project turned into an ongoing mandate with fixed monthly office hours.
Healthcare · Switzerland, several thousand employees
Target architecture for self-hosting designed, licence evaluation and vendor negotiation led, departments enabled to build their own use cases. The most important contribution was a no: the intended edition had no role and permission separation – every user would have had access to all credentials.
Development stopped, the foundation built first.
Retail · Switzerland, family business
Instead of an off-the-shelf tool, a tailor-made ETL: supplier data runs automatically through to the sales-ready product, an AI gate holds back messy records at every stage.
It is operated today by the client's own team.
No subscription, no lock-in. Each step stands on its own.
30 minutes, free. We find out whether your situation and my experience are a fit.
Two to three days at a fixed price. The result is a document with findings and prioritised measures.
You decide on the basis of a clear document – no commitment, no sales pressure.
If it fits, we carry on – as a fractional CIO mandate, guiding an AI rollout or digital transformation, or on a single project. If not, you still walk away with a clear roadmap.
Facing a technology decision?
A first conversation takes half an hour and costs nothing. Afterwards you'll know whether I'm the right person for it – and if I'm not, I'll tell you so. I work in St. Gallen and eastern Switzerland, around Lake Constance and in Graubünden. On site as readily as online.
